This repository reflects the values of the University of Nebraska Kearney (UNK). UNK strives to be a student-focused university recognized for its focus on experiential learning, and for provision of an affordable, high quality undergraduate experience. It is an international destination for some key graduate and online programs. UNK produces graduates who make a difference in their local communities and in the world.

About Institutional Repositories

Institutional Repositories (IRs) bring together all of a University's research under one umbrella, with an aim to preserve and provide access to that research. IRs complement traditional print and electronic publishing in academic fields and ensures the quickest and most accessible dissemination. IRs are also an excellent vehicle for working papers or copies of published articles and conference papers. Presentations, senior theses, and other works not published elsewhere can also be published in the IR.

Where can I learn more about Institutional Repositories?

The Association of Research Libraries is a good resource for information about Institutional Repositories. The following paper, "The Case for Institutional Repositories: A SPARC Position Paper" by Raym Crow, defines Institutional Repositories and argues their merits within an academic institution.
