Abstract/Description

This action research study observes artistic outcomes from students in kindergarten through third grade who display a range of artistic skill levels, and backgrounds. The purpose of this study is to explore what confidence looks like in student artwork and what pedagogical practices art teachers can use to help encourage that confidence by answering two central questions. What does confidence look like in student artwork? What pedagogical practices can art teachers use to encourage students to have confidence in art making?
