Country School Legacy: Humanities on the Frontier was a Mountain Plains Library Association and National Endowment for the Humanities-funded project conducted in 1980. It sought to document both country school buildings and oral histories of those who had taught in country schools. Eight states participated, producing a series of oral histories, school site surveys, articles, exhibits, and films.The UNK Archives cares for the Nebraska materials.
