Daughters of the American Revolution Time Capsule

Artifacts from the Ft. Kearney chapter Daughters of the American Revolution time capsule, retrieved when the Kearney Cemetery Memorial Gates were torn down and rebuilt in 2020. Materials date from the original 1926 placement of the capsule, as well as 1969, when the columns were destroyed by a car accident, and rebuilt.

The collection includes photographs of area young men killed in WWI, lists of veteran group members, a Bible, various Ft. Kearney DAR chapter materials, and local and state newspapers from both the 1920s and 1969.

All items, excepting the Bible, are digitized and available here. Although items are searchable, newspaper misspellings, changes in how family names are spelled, and imperfect text recognition may impact results.

Printing is not supported at the primary Gallery Thumbnail page. Please first navigate to a specific Image before printing.
