Abstract/Description
This research is focused on the integration of art activism into the elementary art curriculum. It begins with an overview of four contemporary artists known for their activist works. A review of recent literature related to art activism and art education follows. While there were many articles discussing art activism in art education curricula, integrating art activism at the elementary level is not well documented. It concludes with a discussion of these artists and the recent literature, with suggestions for age-appropriate activism-based art projects for elementary students.
