Abstract/Sinopsis

Marta Baez es de la República Dominicana. Baez se casó muy joven, tuvo hijos y no pudo asistir a la escuela porque tuvo que sustentar a su familia. Más tarde, su esposo decidió inmigrar a los Estados Unidos. Unos años después, Baez tomó la decisión de seguir a su esposo. Baez comenzó a vivir en la Ciudad de Nueva York donde trabajó en varios empleos para ahorrar dinero y poder traer a sus hijos a EE. UU. Baez enfrentó diferencias culturales cuando inmigró, particularmente acceso a alimentos familiares. Baez y su esposo pudieron traer a sus hijos a EE.UU, donde sus hijos asistieron a la universidad. Actualmente Baez vive en Nebraska, donde ella ha establecido su hogar.

Marta Baez is from the Dominican Republic. Baez got married when she was young, had kids and couldn't finish school because she had to work to support her family. Her husband decided to immigrate to the USA. Some years later, Baez followed her husband. Baez lived in New York City where she worked to be able to bring her children to the US. Baez faced some cultural differences, particularly access to familiar foods, when she first immigrated. Eventually, Baez and her husband were able to bring their children to the USA, where her children attended university. Baez currently lives in Nebraska, where she has established her home.
