Biography
Lt. Charles Anderson was from Wilsonville Nebraska. He received a degree from Kearney State College in May of 1943. His diploma was received by his wife, who was also graduating, because Anderson had been called to service 26 days prior. Upon entering the Marine Corps Anderson trained until receiving his commission on November 3, 1943. He then entered the Marine Air Corps. Anderson died from injuries he sustained during the invasion of Iwo Jima.
