Biography
Ralph Shinn was from Elba, Nebraska. He attended Nebraska State Teachers College at Kearney, where he was on the track team. When he left for service as an enlisted soldier in the Marine Corps, he only lacked six months of school until he would have graduated. He died on May 16th, 1945 on Okinawa. He was awarded an honorary degree from NSTC at Kearney from President Cushing.
