Abstract

Green procurement is essential for sustainable supply chain management and requires leaders to integrate strategies across regulatory, operational, and organizational boundaries. This study explores how Canadian small auto parts manufacturers implement green procurement initiatives, focusing on leadership strategies that bridge policy, practice, and industry collaboration. Guided by Kotter's Eight-Step Change Model and utilizing interviews, focus groups, and documents, the findings reveal that leaders adapt change steps to manage resource constraints, regulatory pressures, and collaboration needs. The study advances change management theory and offers practical insights for balancing sustainability goals with competitiveness in interconnected supply chains.

Additional Comments

This paper is part of my doctoral dissertation research (defense scheduled October 14, 2025) and aligns with the MPBC 2025 theme of Integration Across Boundaries by examining leadership strategies in green procurement across regulatory and organizational contexts.
